'India will have its mission on Mars by 2013-2015'
New Delhi, Aug 31: ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair on Monday, Aug 31 said India will have its mission on Mars by 2013-2015.
On Saturday, Aug 29, IRSO's scientists and engineers, who have worked over the India"s first moon mission Chandrayaan-1 had lost radio contact with the spacecraft orbiting about 200 km above the moon's surface.
Sources said that data from Chandrayaan-1's last orbit was transmitted until 12:25 am on Saturday, Aug 29, to the Indian Deep Space Network at Byalalu near Bangalore.
Although Chandrayaan-1 was slated to be a two-year mission, ISRO chairman Madhavan Nair had said that nearly 95 pc of Chandrayaan's scientific goals had already been accomplished in less than a year.
He also said, "India to have its mission on Mars by 2013-2015."
