CBI arrests Ramarao Patil in Rs 10cr scam
Mumbai, Aug 17: Contractor Ramarao Patil, who complained to the CBI against Buta Singh's son, has been arrested by the Nasik police after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the sessions court on Monday, Aug 17.
Patil is accused of cheating 100 of his employees by fraudulently getting their signatures and obtaining loans from a credit society. He will be produced in court on Tuesday, Aug 18.
Public prosecutor Sridhar Mane said that Patil had obtained signatures from the workers promising them permanent employment with various municipal corporations. "In some of the applications, the workers' addresses provided were fake,'' Mane said.
Earlier, on Jul 10, Bhadrakali police registerd FIR against Patil for fraudulently obtaining the signatures of the workers and obtaining loans of Rs 10 crore from Sahakar Mitra Shree Chandrakant Hari Badhe Urban Co-op Credit Society.
