Buta's son sent to judicial custody till Aug 12
Mumbai, Aug 5: A special court on Wednesday, Aug 5 rejected CBI demand for custody of Buta Singh's son and three others and remanded in judicial custody till Aug 12.
The court also posted their bail petitions for hearing on Thursday, Aug 6.
Judge S P Hayatnagar said, "I am rejecting CBI's demand for custody of all accused as sufficient time has been given for probe to the investigating agency...I also feel that further custodial interrogation is not necessary."
The other accused who have been arrested in the case are Anup Begi, Dukhsingh Chouhan and Madan Solanki.
They are facing charges for allegedly seeking Rs 1 crore bribe from Nashik-based contractor Rama Rao Patil to close a case pending before the National Commission for Scheduled Castes against him.
