Muthalik arrested for alleged role in Mysore riots
Mysore, Jul 25: Police have reportedly arrested Sri Ram Sena leader, Pramod Muthalik for alleged role in the Mysore communal clashes that took place on Jul 2.
Muthalik who was arrested in Belgaum is accused of making inflammatory speeches and inciting violence in Mysore. He is expected to be produced in the Udayagiri police station later.
Violence was sparked off in Mysore on Jul 2 over desecration of a madrassa and the communal clashes that followed claimed the three lives.
Earlier, Sri Ram Sena activists had attacked women in a Mangalore Pub which brought Pramod Muthalik into the limelight. Due to this incident Muthalik is barred from entering South Karnataka areas.
