Kalam Frisking: FIR against four airline officials

New Delhi, Jul 25: Despite the statement from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that Continental Airlines frisking former Indian President, Abdul Kalam was not a mistake and that they were only doing what was required of them, an FIR has been registered against the officials who were involved in this act.

In the FIR that was file on Friday, Jul 24 four officials were named, including airlines' India head Laurent Recoura, security in-charge Jaideep, station manager Allen Field and area security manager Cynthia.

The statement from the US agency was met with disapproval from all the parliamentarian across all the parties.

While BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy who was NDA's Aviation Minister questioned 'whether such things are happening due to the 'kneel down before US' policy of the UPA government', NCP's Supriya Sule called the incident sad and called for strict enforcement of Protocol guidelines.

Abdul Kalam was made to undergo a humiliating security check at the IGI airport in Delhi in Apr 2009. After the incident came to light there was an uproar in the country leading to the US airliner's apology on Jul 22. However, on Jul 24, TSA give a statement saying that the airliner was only following the security rules formulated after the 9/11 attacks.
