Moradabad, Jul 17: The Congress MP, Mohammad Azharuddin from Moradabad is not going to stop with just meeting the UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi in the jail to express his support towards her. He has reportedly said that he will court arrest to protest the arrest of Rita for allegedly making a hate speech against the state's Chief Minister, Mayawati.

"Azharuddin will lead a protest rally and court arrest after the Friday namaz in Moradabad," Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Rita Bahuguna Joshi who is the chief of UPCC was arrested on Wednesday, Jul 15 night for making derogatory remarks against BSP supremo, Mayawati while referring to the monetary relief given to rape victims of the state.

Soon, the issue turned political, with bitter battles fought between Bhahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and Congress. Mayawati who responded to the remarks demanded for an apology from Congress President, Sonia Gandhi and alleged that the party's silence showed that they were in support of the remarks.

While the BSP continue to slam Congress over the 'unparliamentary' remarks, Congress members are accusing the Chief Minister of using the Police and security forces to protect her interests.
