San Francisco, Jul 8: The internet giant, Google announced that it will be dropping the 'beta' tag from its applications like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Talk.

Google did not release any upgrades for these applications and based the decision on the satisfaction certificate given to these applications by its engineers.

"We've focused our efforts on reaching our high bar for taking our products out of beta, and all the applications in the Apps suite have now met that mark," Matthew Glotzbach, the product management director for Google wrote in a blog post.

The Beta or test label means that the product or application is not yet good enough to be released for public use but is sufficient to be used in an interim basis. Google applications have been on the beta status for a while now, for instance Gmail has been on that beta mode for five years. But they have already gained an astonishing customer base.

So, this move only could mean that the company is getting serious about its market and wants to attract the Corporate technology managers who tend to shy away from beta products.
