New York, July 1 (ANI): Alaska Governor Sarah Palin may have lost the race to become the next US vice-president, but she has told Runner's World, a sports magazine that she could beat President Barack Obama in long-distance running.

"If [it] were a long race that required a lot of endurance I'd win. I betcha I'd have more endurance," the New York Daily News quoted Palin, as saying.

"If you ever talk to my old coaches they'd tell you, too. What I lacked in physical strength or skill I made up for in determination and endurance," she added.

Palin did admit she wouldn't do well against Obama at basketball, the President's chosen sport.

"He towers over me and I wouldn't be complaining about an unfair advantage there," she said.

"But maybe I'd do better playing H-O-R-S-E with him than one-on-one," she said.

The one-time vice presidential candidate also spoke on how much running is a part of her life, and has impacted her view on politics:

"You have to have determination and set goals, and you don't complain when something's hurting because no one wants to hear it," the 45-year-old Republican said.

Palin said that her runs usually consists of some of the same music, including Van Halen and AC/DC. Although she does close it out with a little country, such as Amy Grant. (ANI)
