Mkts end lower; DLF, Tata Motors Unitech plunge
Mumbai, Jun 30: The markets end the day in the red. BSE Sensex fell 291.90 points or 1.97 per cent, to shut shop at 14,493.84 and the 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 4291.10, down 2.27 per cent or 99.85 points.
BSE Midcap Index fell 153.75 points or 2.94 per cent, to 5,076.34 and the Smallcap Index declined 2.51 per cent or 147.82 points, to 5,740.04.
The top losers were, Suzlon Energy, Idea Cellular, DLF, Tata Motors, Unitech, Jaiprakash Associates, Sterlite Industries and Reliance Infrastructure.
HDIL, Lanco Infratech, Bajaj Hindusthan, Unitech, Sobha, HCC and Shree Renuka Sugars plummeted 2.5 to 12 per cent.
Among
the
sectors,
the
BSE
Realty
Index
underperformed
other
indices,
fell
7.4
per
cent.
Metal,
Power,
Capital
Goods,
Bank,
Oil
&
Gas,
Healthcare
and
Auto
indices
tumbled
2
to
3.4
per
cent.
The
total
traded
turnover
was
at
Rs
78,432.23
crore.

Mkts choppy; Tata Motors, DLF, ICICI dip
At 12:34, the Sensex was down 146.81 points or 0.99 per cent at 14638.93, and the Nifty was down 47.10 points or 1.07 per cent at 4343.85. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices were down 1.23 per cent and 0.72 per cent respectively.
The markets were choppy and still carried a negative bias. Selling was seen in realty, auto, power, bank and oil & gas stocks.
Losers on the Sensex were Tata Motors at Rs 294.60 down 6.13 per cent, Sterlite Ind at Rs 617 down 4.59 per cent, Jaiprakash Asso at Rs 210.95 down 4.55 per cent, DLF at Rs 324.40 down 4.02 per cent and ICICI Bank at Rs 725.70 down 3.07 per cent.
Among

midcaps,
the
losers
were
HDIL,
Bajaj
Hind,
IVRCL
Infras,
IBN18
Broadcast
and
Indiabulls
Real
which
plummeted
7
to
8
per
cent.
And
in
the
Smallcap
arena
falling
7
to
8
per
cent
Asahi
India,
Bajaj
Hind,
Geefcee
Fin,
Himadri
Chem
and
NESCO
proved
to
be
the
losers.

Mkts volatile; buying in TCS, L&T, Wipro
The markets are trading lower amid volatility. At 11:38 am, the Sensex fell 73 points, to 14,713 and the Nifty declined 29 points, to 4,361. Among the broader indices, the BSE Midcap fell 0.9 per cent and the Smallcap Index lost 0.3 per cent.
The markets were facing a negative bias. And Realty, telecom, auto, select power and metal stocks along with Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Infosys, BHEL, HDFC Bank and ITC were putting pressure on the benchmark indices.
The losses were however, capped by buying in TCS, L&T, HUL, Sun Pharma, Cairn, Tata Steel, Tata Power, ONGC, Wipro, Grasim and BPCL.

HDIL,
Suzlon
Energy,
Tata
Steel,
DLF
and
Unitech
were
the
one
most
active
in
trades.

Mkts open green; Reliance Power, Tata Steel gain
The markets opened in the green after managing to end the previous session positive in spite of struggling will selling pressure. At 9:56 am, the Sensex went up by 106 points, to 14,891 and the Nifty rose 29 points at 4,419. The CNX Midcap 100 surged 53 points, to 5,624.
The gainers among the frontliners were, Sterlite, Reliance Power, Unitech, Suzlon, Idea Cellular, Cairn India, Nalco, Power Grid, Ranbaxy Labs, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Reliance Capital and Ambuja Cements.
BPCL, Cipla, HCL Tech and Wipro were trading lower.
The
Asian
markets
are
trading
higher.
