Islamabad, June 25 (ANI): With the Pakistan Army announcing an all out war against the Tehrik-e-Taliban chief, Baitullah Mehsud, in the South Waziristan region, US drones are also conducting regular sorties of the region primarily to keep a track of the terrorist' activities, something that has left Pakistan fuming.

At least two US Predator aircrafts were seen prowling over the TTP chief's stronghold region on Wednesday, The Daily Times reports.

Local residents said that the militants had fired at the drones after the missile strike on Monday in which several extremists were reportedly killed.

The drones struck in the region just after Mehsud returned from there after attending a funeral.

Sources said the Taliban has sealed off the site where the attack took place.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has once again expressed its discontent over the continuous drone strikes inside its territory.

Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit reiterated that the drone strikes were against Pakistan's sovereignty.

"It has been Pakistan's consistent position that drone attacks are a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and must be stopped," Basit said.

"Pakistan's own law enforcement operations are proceeding satisfactorily and the nation's determination to eliminate the scourge of terrorism remains unshakable", he added. (ANI)
