Cabinet expansion on the cards, says J and K congress chief
Srinagar, June 17 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir state Congress president Saifuddin Soz said on Wednesday that cabinet expansion in the state is likely to take place within a few days.
"Cabinet expansion is on the cards and it can take place any time within a couple of days," Soz said.
Currently there are 10 ministers, including chief minister Omar Abdullah, in the council of ministers.
Soz said some inductions have been made with the prior approval of party president Sonia Gandhi.
According to the recently passed law in the state, an additional 14-15 ministers can be inducted in the cabinet.
It includes former deputy chief minister Mangat Ram Sharma as senior vice president, G N Mir Lasjan as general secretary and Mir Habibullah Hamdani and Mohammad Sultan Mandoo as secretaries. (ANI)
