Taliban raid three army posts in South Waziristan
London, June 11 (ANI): Three military posts have reportedly been attacked by the Taliban in Pakistan's South Waziristan region.
At least three army personnel and over 20 extremists have been killed in the attack, which took place is the region supposedly the strong hold of Pakistan Taliban's chief Betullah Mehsud.
The co-ordinated attacks which took place early today (Thursday) occurred at the bases in Jandola, Chakmalai and Splitoi towns, The Daily Express reports.
The attacks could not be confirmed officially till the reports last filtered in.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Defense Secretary Syed Athar Ali has claimed that 1400 militants have been killed and various others have been arrested in the Swat military offensive till now.
Briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence, Ali said the extremists were getting aid and assistance from 'neighbouring countries'. (ANI)
