Differences crept between TNSM,TTP over Sharia implementation : NWFP minister
Peshawar, Jun.7 (ANI): TheTehrik-i-Nifaz-i-Shariat-i-Muhammadi (TNSM) and the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had developed differences over the issue of implementing Sharia in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), provincial Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has said.
Hussain claimed the TNSM's leadership was receiving life threats from the Taliban.
"Amir Izzat had personally informed me that he and even TNSM chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad were receiving life threats from the Taliban," he said.
Hussain said that both the TNSM's leaders Amir Izzat Khan and Maulana Mohammad Alam were killed in a militant attack.
Terming the incident as 'target killing', he said militants wanted to provoke people against the government by killing TNSM's leaders.
"Due to such heinous acts, the militants have lost the support of religious people and now they are isolated in the NWFP. There are rifts in the ranks of militants and soon they will be flushed out from Malakand and others parts of the country," he added. (ANI)
