Two top pro-Taliban leaders shot dead: Pak Army
Islamabad, Jun 6: Pakistan army has claimed that two top pro-Taliban leaders have been shot dead in the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP) of the country.
The army claims that the leader were killed in a cross-fire between the security forces and the militants which took place when the militants attacked a security forces' convoy which was transporting the leaders to a prison in Peshawar. The militants reportedly ambused the convoy in an attempt to free the leaders.
Deputy chief of pro-Taliban rebel outfit Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) Mohammad Aalam and its spokesman Amir Izzat were involved in brokering the controversial Swat peace deal.
