Godman Jadeja's 'rasaleela' caught on tape
Ahmedabad, Jun 4: Ashok Jadeja, the self-proclaimed 'Godman' who was earlier arrested for swindling hundreds of people, has now turned out to be a philanderer.
Police received a video in which Jadeja was seen dancing with bar girls, showering new currency notes on them. The CID (Crime Investigation Department) said that they have also found that Jadeja had plans to cash in on the real-estate boom close to Nano plant, where he had plans of buying a huge plot of land.
CID officials on Wednesday, Jun 3 visited the plot, to enquire how much investment had Jadeja made in the land. Officials said that most of the money he accumulated through fraud was invested into purchasing gold and property. CID officials has also recovered from Dena Bank's Sarkhej branch, about Rs 1 crore worth diamond-studded gold, silver ornaments. There are in search for more of Jadeja's bank accounts and property documents to know where the money has been invested.
Jadeja looted people in the garb of religion using simple method. He would reportedly sit outside the temple called the Sikoter Mandir in the city and tell gullible people that if they kept their money with him, the goddess would make them rich.
He would gain his customers" confidence by paying back thrice the amount deposited in the first few transactions. Reports suggest that he was a smooth operation run with the help of 35-odd accomplices. He has accumulated more than 20 crore in three states.
