Pak Foreign Ministry was kept in dark over Mushsrraf's "out of the box" K-proposals
Islamabad, Jun.3 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the during the former President General Pervez Musharraf's reign, the Foreign Ministry was kept in dark regarding his "out of the box" proposals to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Qureshi said the ministry had no knowledge about any efforts being made to resolve the Kashmir issue during Musharraf's regime.
Commenting on Musharraf's regime's 'out of the box' solution and efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue, he said the efforts were mostly carried out through back channel diplomacy, about which the ministry has no record, The Nation reports.
Qureshi said resolving the Kashmir issue was the key to establish peace in the region, and improve the relationship between both the neighbouring countries.
"Ties between the two countries cannot be improved by sidelining Kashmir issue," he added. (ANI)
