Indian inflation at 0.61 pc
New Delhi, May 28: India's inflation remained unchanged at 0.61 percent for the week ended May 16 compared to the previous week even as prices of some food items like tea, pulses and cereals became expensive.
Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation was at 8.66 pc during the corresponding week in 2008. During the week, Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and furnace oil turned more expensive by 2 percent.
Among manufactured products, prices unrefined oil shot up by 21 percent, malted food by 7 percent and imported edible oil by 3 percent.
Inflation for the week ended March 21 was revised upwards to 0.84 percent from 0.31 percent as estimated provisionally.
