New Delhi, May 8: With the AICC's general secretary Rahul Gandhi praising the rival, the allies of the party have gone berserk. Launching its 'damage control' Congress on Thursday, May 7 claimed that it was a 'priority' to win back those 'who have been with us from 2004 to 2009'.

Sonia Gandhi who postponed her trip to Tamil Nadu called up the DMK supremo M Karunanidhi, one of the allies of the UPA to clarify things and remove any misunderstandings.

Rahul Gandhi is expected to reach Tamil Nadu to address rallies at Sivaganga and Trichy on Friday, May 8 while Manmohan Singh will address a rally in Chennai on Saturday, May 9, which Karunanidhi is expected to attend.

Karunanidhi"s daughter Kanimozhi has cleared the air saying that there was no confusion on the alliance with the Congress and no change in their equations.
