7 students sent home for ragging in Sanawar

Solan, (Himachal Pradesh), May 3: Yet another case of brutal ragging is reported from the state of Himachal Pradesh, where Aman Kachroo an MBBS student died allegedly due to ragging. Ten to 15 students of standard X of prestigious Lawrence School at Sanawar, some 18-km from Solan, were allegedly ragged by their seniors of Class XII.

The suspected seven students who carried out the ragging are send back home. The incident occurred on Monday, Apr 27 night. When the school authorities came to know about the incident, a three member disciplinary committee was set up to look into the issue. The committee found the incident genuine and guilty students were sent back home.

Praveen Vashist, the headmaster of the school said that the culprits were too young to handover to police. He said that they guilty students would not be allowed to return to the school. Government has ordered a probe into the incident.
