Infosys appoints KV Kamath as add Director

Bangalore, May 3: KV Kamath, the non-executive Chairman of ICICI Bank was appointed as an additional director to Infosys Technologies board of directors on Saturday, May 1.

In a statement released in Bangalore, Infy said, "Kamath will serve as an additional director till the company's annual general meeting (AGM) June 20. He will be inducted as a non-executive director on the board once his appointment is approved by shareholders."

NR Narayana Murthy, the Chairman and mentor of Infosys said that Kamath is an outstanding corporate leader. "Implementing such a vision is a rare example of excellent leadership that is at par with the best in the corporate world internationally. His contribution to the Infosys' board will be significant," Murthy added.

KV Kamat who was with ICICI since 1971, retired from the India's second largest private lender in Apr.
