Will launch fidayeen attacks during LS polls: LeT
Srinagar, Apr 19: Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) one of the major terrorist outfit in Pakistan on Saturday, Apr 18 threatened to launch suicide attacks during the Lok Sabha polls in Jammu Kashmir. LeT warned the people to take part in the election process at 'their own peril'.
Abdullah Ghaznavi, the LeT spokesperson in a statement said, "We will launch fidayeen (suicide) attacks during the poll process. If people vote they will be doing so at their own peril", he warned. LeT which is believed to be the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks was trying to make its presence felt stronger in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier during the state assembly polls in Nov-Dec the militant group said that it would not interfere in the poll process. However, the large turnout during the Assembly polls has baffled militant groups and also the hardline faction of the separatist Hurriyat Conference (HC) led by pro-Pakistan Syed Ali Geelani.
