Bungee jumping claims engineer's life in Bangalore

Bangalore, Apr 12: G Bhargava, a 25-year-old marine engineer plunged to death as the harness snapped while he was trying a reverse bungee jumping near Bannerghatta, on Saturday, Apr 11. The marine engineer was on tour to Bangalore with a group of friends from Chennai. This is the first bungee-related death reported from Bangalore. The adventurous sport was organised by the Centre for Adventure and Rejuvenation of Environment (CARE).

Soon he was rushed to hospital, but was declared brought dead, Bhargava died of multiple injuries in the head as well as his left leg and hands according to the hospital authorities. Police have booked a case against CARE for negligence and said that the sporting event was set up with in an unprofessional manner. The organisation has not set up a safety net, or first aid facilities or an ambulance.
