Washington, Apr 2: A report presented by a group of American experts states that Pakistan is using terrorism strategically to achieve its goals concerning Kashmir and other Indo-Pak conflicts.

Wendy Chamberlin, the President of the Middle East Institute and former Ambassador to Pakistan is one of the member of this committee that told a Congressional panel about the dangers of mediating between the two conflicting nations. The recent incidents of Lahore attacks and Mumbai terror attacks have been highlighted in this report. Terrorist agencies like Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are understood by India as equal to the dangerous al Qaeda as viewed by the Americans.

"Over the last many years Pakistan has been covertly supporting Kashmir terrorist groups - now they're called Punjabi terrorist groups - to harass India in Kashmir," said Wendy Chamberlin, president of the prestigious Middle East Institute and former US Ambassador to Pakistan.

Along with Chamberlin, Lisa Curtis a Senior Research for South Asia in the Heritage Foundation's Asia Studies Centre concurred with the move to not intrude on the Indo-Pak Conflict.
