Zardari officially ends Gov's rule in Punjab
Islamabad, Mar 30: Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday, Mar 30 signed a 'summary' or official document, ending Governor's rule in Punjab province of Pakistan, a media report said. The report was sent by the Prime Minister's office, sources in the ruling Pakistan People's Party were quoted as saying by Dawn News channel.
Soon, a formal notification will be issued by the cabinet division to end the Governor's rule. After this, the Governor will summon a session of the provincial assembly to elect a new Chief Minister.
Punjab was earlier ruled by the opposition PML-N with Governor being Shahbaz Sharif.
