Lucknow, March 30: Varun Gandhi has plunged into more trouble with the Mayawati govt in Uttar Pradesh invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against BJP candidate, Varun Gandhi on Mar 29, Sunday night.

Under NSA Act he may face up to one year in detention without bail. "The decision to charge Varun Gandhi under the National Security Act has been taken. Varun Gandhi has booked under Section 2 and 3 of the National Security Act," said Uttar Pradesh Additional Cabinet Secretary Vijay Shankar Pandey.

Sections 2 and 3 of the National Security Act had been invoked and a notice had been served to Gandhi in jail.

Gandhi has been held responsible for delivering inflammatory speeches in Pilibhit on March 7, and for inciting a mob outside the district court before surrendering on March 28.

He changed his route without informing the district administration, which had led to difficulties in controlling crowds. His supporters had gone on a rampage outside the jail, the notice said.

However, BJP rubbished NSA charge as the horrible revenge politics by Mayawati govt.
