Its official: PMK join hands with AIADMK

New Delhi, Mar 26: Its a huge setback for the UPA as PMK officially joined hands with Jayalalithaa's AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, Mar 26.

Around 2453 PMK party workers voted in favour of the alliance. With this alliance, PMK has six seats in Tamil Nadu now.

PMK to align with AIADMK today?

Its a crucial day for Congress as Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss's PMK will decide whether to stay in Congress or to join Jayalalithaa led AIADMK. However, PMK, a constituent of the ruling UPA at the Centre, is all set to join the AIADMK-led front in Tamil Nadu.

In this regard a crucial meeting to take a formal decision has been called on Thursday, Mar 26. Meeting will be attended by PMK founder S Ramadoss, Union Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss and others.

Both the Congress and Jayalalithaa had offered the PMK eight seats, including seven Lok Sabha and one Rajya Sabha. However, official announcement to align with AIADMK will be announced after the meeting.

The PMK currently has six MPs.
