Kochi, Mar 19 (ANI): Queen Mary II, world's largest ocean liner, reached Kerala's Kochi coast on Wednesday.

The liner is proving to be a visual-treat for the residents.

Tourists were excited to be on board the cruiser which has made a 12-hour stopover at the Kochi Port as part of its global voyage.

"Lots of different restaurants, different people. Its an experience," said Jennifer, a tourist from Germany.

While some were excited, others observed that the 1,130 feet long vessel houses duplex apartments, forward suites, penthouses and ocean suites had few takers owing to the global recessionary trends.

"I don't think many people are traveling due to recession," said Kelly, a tourist from the United States of America.

Nevertheless, passengers on board Queen Mary II said they were happy to spend some time in Kerala.

"It's our first trip on Queen Mary II. It is a fantastic ship. It's nice to come to India and it's a nice place to see," said John, another passenger.

Mary has 13 decks complete with modern amenities and a traditional Ayurveda massage centre.

Queen Mary II reached India from Singapore carrying over 2400 passengers and 1,200 staff members.

Mary, one of the most magnificent liners is now headed towards Dubai.

The ocean liner that made its maiden journey in January 2004 visited Kochi for the second time. (ANI)
