Court bans Pramod Muthalik for 1 year
Mangalore, Mar 17: Pramod Muthalik, the controversial Sri Ram Sena chief was banned from entering Dakshina Kannada district for one year by a Mangalore court on Monday, Mar 16. The order passed by district magistrate V Ponnuraj came into effect immediately.
The court passed order siting various reasons like attack on young women in a Mangalore pub attack in Jan, disruption of valentine's day celebration etc.
On Jan 24, a group of Sri Ram Sena activists barged into a pub in Mangalore, attacked and even molested women saying that the women were violating traditional Indian values. Little known Muthalik and his Sena came to limelight after the Mangalore pub attack and the threat issued against the celebration of Valentine's Day.
