Third Front will have no consequence: Venkaiah Naidu
Bangalore, Mar 16 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that the Third Front will be of 'no consequence' in the ensuing general elections.
He termed the Front's meet hosted by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati as a successful photo opportunity.
"Third front is neither feasible not possible. It has no consequence. The meet yesterday was nothing more than a successful photo opportunity," Naidu told reporters here.
The BJP leader said that the Front did not have any common agenda.
"They have agreed on not to agree on anything. No common agenda, no leader, no sharing and no joint campaign. No useful purpose is going to be achieved out of this," he added.
Naidu claimed that the party was eyeing at least 132 seats of the southern states.
When asked about his party's recent brakeup with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the former BJP chief said the party was not worried over BJD leaving NDA and would contest all seats on its own.
"BJP was not worried over BJD leaving NDA. We are strong and united. In Assam, we have AGP, INLD in Haryana, JD(U) in Bihar, RLD in Uttar Pradesh and Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. We will contest all seats on our own in states where we don't have allies. We are on our own in south India," he added. (ANI)
