Pak Interior Ministry denies Sharif is under house arrest
Islamabad, Mar.15 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Ministry has denied reports that former Pakistan Prime Minister and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif are under house arrest.
According to The News, the ministry has told the concerned authorities to beef-up security around the Sharif brothers'.
"Both of them were never and at no place arrested and neither any such order has been issued," ministerial sources said.
Earlier it was reported that restrictions on Sharifs' movement in and around the country were imposed by the government as he was put under house arrest at his Model Town residence in Lahore.
PML-N leaders, however, had denied reports of Nawaz Sharif's house arrest. (ANI)
Meanwhile, reports filtering in said that heavy a deployment of police has been made around Chaudhry Tanvir's Chaklala house to facilitate the arrest of Shahbaz Sharif.
In Lahore, Police baton charged lawyers and civil society representatives injuring several protestors. Large number of lawyers removed the barricades placed by the security forces and reached GPO chowk where political workers and representatives of civil society also joined them.(ANI)
