New Delhi, Mar 4: The Congress party has decided to adopt the song 'Jai Ho" from the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire" as it"s theme song for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

According to senior party leader said 'Jai Ho' showcased what the Congress represented to the people of India. The song represented hope and possibility in the film based on a rags-to-riches story and the Congress-led government rekindled hope in the multitudes, he said.

The party has bought the rights to A.R. Rahman"s song from Danny Boyle"s film and the tune from music company T-Series. The Congress plans to use the song to convey the message that the Congress-led government has been a saga of hope for the common man.

Earlier, Congress had used the song from Shah Rukh Khan"s movie Chak De! for it"s campaign in Gujarat. Slumdog Millionaire is a story of a slum boy who raises from rags to riches by participating in a reality TV show. The movie won eight Oscars.
