Octomom is 'absolutely irresponsible', says dad

London, February 21 (ANI): The octuplets' grandfather has dubbed his daughter "absolutely irresponsible" after she added to her previous brood of 6 kids by giving birth to six boys and two girls.

Ed Doud told chat queen Oprah Winfrey that he hoped his grandkids were not punished for his daughter Nadya Suleman and her doctor's negligent conduct.

Nadya, 33, who conceived all 14 of her babies through in vitro fertilization, had given birth to the octuplets in late January in Los Angeles.

The single, unemployed mum lives with her mother Angela in a three-bedroom home, which is standing on a 16,300-pound-outstanding mortgage and faces the threat of being repossessed and sold at auction.

And now, according to the interview bits released by Harpo Productions, her father Doud has appealed to the public for help.

"You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now - people - we do need help," the Daily Express quoted him as saying on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

"Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God," he added.

On being further questioned if he believed his daughter to be mentally sound, he added: "Now I'm no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation." (ANI)
