London, January 8 (ANI): Mahatma Gandhi, Jesus, and The Beatles' John Lennon have now featured on a spoof website created by Twitter fans, which compares bloggers' real-life experiences with the thoughts of such famous historical figures.

The website called Historical Tweets allows its users to post snappy updates on what they are doing in 140 characters.

Gandhi's thought of non-violence manifested itself in one of the posts that read: "Punched an old lady today. Feel bad."

As regards Jesus, there was one post that said: "Wine into water didn't go too well. Must find better miracles."

Describing Lennon's relationship with Yoko Ono, who had a strained relationship with the rest of The Beatles, a post said: "Met new girlfriend. Bandmates love her".

Historical Tweets' creators said, in their tongue-in-cheek description of the site, that they hoped that it would make the past more palatable to the modern generation, which likes to get any information in bite-sized chunks.

"Books have been ruining history. So many unnecessary words. Now, with Historical Tweets, history's most amazing men and women can be fully understood, a mere 140 characters at a time," the Telegraph quoted them as saying. (ANI)
