Islamabad, Jan 6: In an off camera briefing to the Pakistani media, Richard Boucher, US Assistant Secretary of State admitted that there was evidence of Islamabad's links to the gruesome Mumbai terror attacks. He said, it is clear that the attackers had links that lead to Pakistani soil."

Boucher met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday, Jan 5 and said that the meeting with leaders had been fruitful.

He added that United states wants Islamabad to investigate the information provided by New Delhi, follow the available evidence and nab the perpetrators, so that no such attacks occur in future. After the talks with Pak top leadership Boucher said in a press conference in the US Embassy there that both India and Pakistan 'had pieces of the puzzle' and need to cooperate.

He added that only if both the nations work together the perpetrators of the attacks could be tracked down. US has direct interest in the probe as six of its citizens are killed in the Mumbai terror strikes. He said, "We are interested that those responsible must be found."

When asked about the involvement of Pak's state instutions like ISI, he said, "Let us find out from the evidence handed over by India, who was involved in the attacks and not jump to conclusions."
