New Delhi, Dec 11: Panic struck the Capital city of India on Wednesday, Dec 10 night after the news of a bomb scare in Connaught Place spread. Situation became more tense after an NSG team (National Security Group) was called in to inspect a bag that was found in an autorickshaw.

The area was immediately cordoned off using metal barriers as a precautionary measure. The Bomb Disposal Squad were also rushed in to inspect a bag. Reports say that the bag contained two electronic metal safes, a bottle with a gel-like substance and fake dollars. Sources all say that a suitcase was also found in the auto-rickshaw.

"The auto was intercepted as a part of routine procedure but the moment the men saw the policemen they jumped out from the other side and just melted in the crowd leaving us with a very scared auto driver and a very heavy bag which caused bomb rumours to fly thick and fast. But as of now we are not ruling out anything. It can even be a case of drugs smuggling and the men may have been involved in the black dollar scam," said a police official who was present in the venue.

Police detained the driver of the vehicle. He said that two men boarded his vehicle from the Paharganj area. The men are said to be Nigerian nationals. The police have launched a manhunt for the two.
