Heavy buying: Markets closes on higher note
Mumbai, Dec 10: Sensex, the Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index rose 5.45 per cent or 499.22 points at 9,661.84 after touching a high of 9,678.70. The low was 9,280.16. While National Stock Exchange's Nifty climbed 5.14 per cent or 143.15 points to 2927.15.

Markets open green on Wednesday, Dec 10 morning continuing its Tuesday, Dec 9's rally further. At 9:56 am, the Sensex rose 178 points to 9,341 and the Nifty gained 54 points at 2,838. CNX Midcap Index went up 33.45 points to 3,361. Market breadth is positive; about 339 shares have advanced while 121 shares declined.
An uptrend in SGX Nifty and positive Asian markets are indicating a good day for markets. The major gainers in the morning trade are DLF, Reliance Petroleum, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Tata Communication, Reliance Industries and Reliance Communication.
