Act fast, if not India may strike: McCain to Pak
Washington, Dec 7: US Senator and Former Presidential candidate John McCain said on Saturday, Dec 6, he believes that if Pakistan did not take necessary action against the individuals and groups linked to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India will conduct air strikes on select targets in Pakistan.
He added that there is enough evidence of the involvement of former ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) officers in the planning and execution of the Mumbai strikes. Senator McCain was in Islamabad with a Senate delegation that met Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and other leading politicians, having visited New Delhi a day earlier in a trip arranged before the crisis erupted.
He said that terrorist training camps are still operational in Pakistan. McCain indicated that their number had increased since the time the US launched its campaign in Afghanistan in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
