New Delhi, Nov 30: Home Minister Shivaraj Patil has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Taking responsibility of Mumbai Blasts.
He offered to quit at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday, Nov 29 held in the backdrop of the Mumbai terror strikes, party sources said on Sunday, Nov 30. Taking a cue, the senior leaders without naming Patil but the attack was clearly directed towards him, said somebody must be held responsible. Patil sat through listening to the attacks and finally said he is ready for whatever decision the CWC takes and took moral responsibility.
Patil takes moral responsisibility for Mumbai attacks, pulled up by Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh for not doing enough. Sources said that Maharastra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh my be asked to quit. BJP said only Patil resignation is not enough.
