Qantas sends Airbus A330-300 to Mumbai
Melbourne, Nov 28: Australian national carrier Qantas has this afternoon dispatched a bigger aircraft to Mumbai, with the capability of airlifting about 297 Australians.
The aircraft, an Airbus A330-300, is due in Mumbai at 6 p.m. local time and is scheduled to leave for Australia 90 minutes later. Qantas officials said this afternoon that the airline had yet to be asked to evacuate Australians from danger but had decided to put a bigger plane than normal on today's scheduled service. The airline normally operates a 235-seat A330-200 jet to Mumbai thrice a week.
