Liquor shops to be closed for polls in MP
Jabalpur, Nov 21: A ban has been imposed on the sale and purchase of liquor, spirit or similar material for 48 hours from 1700 hrs on Nov 25, in view of polling for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
The Election Commission has issued directives that any material, falling in the catagory of liquor, could not be sold, purchased and distributed from any bar, hotel, restaurant, shop or any other public or private place.
Violating the directive would be a punitive crime and the defaulter may have to face a six-month imprisonment or Rs 2,000 as fine or both.
