Hazaribagh, Nov 16: Bhojpuri film actor and singer Manoj Tiwary has accused Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray of indulging in appeasement politics by attacking north Indians residing in that state. ''The MNS leader wants to gain sympathy from Marathi people by attacking people belonging to Hindi-speaking states,'' Mr Tiwary told reporters on Saturday, Nov 15 evening. ''Common people of Maharashtra have nothing to do with the violence being perpetrated on North Indians,'' the actor said, adding anti-north Indian feeling was confined only to MNS activists.

He said the recent MNS attacks had also hampered business of the Bhojpuri film industry. ''Earlier, the turnover of Bhojpuri film indutry was nearly Rs four crore but now it has been limited only to Rs 50 lakh because of these incidents,'' the actor added. He also urged to establish a film studio in the state.
