Serial blasts in India: Joint effort of LeT, SIMI, IM

New Delhi, Sep 21: On Saturday, Sep 20, the Delhi Police claimed that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and Indian Mujahideen jointly carried out the serial blasts in various parts (Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, UP courts and Varanasi) of the India.

Delhi Police Joint Commissioner (Special Cell) Karnal Singh told media persons, "Atif alias Bashar, who was killed in Friday's encounter in South Delhi, was the main man from Indian Mujahideen and seems to have been inspired by global terror organisation al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden." "LeT was providing total support to SIMI and Indian Mujahideen," Singh added.

Singh also said that that the terrorist killed by a Special Cell team in New Delhi's Jamia Nagar area on Friday, Sep 19 morning as been identified as Atif and he was kingpin of the terror network. "Atif and Junaid planted the bombs in Greater Kailash-i M block Market, Sajid and Zeeshan at Barakhambha Road while Saif (son of Samajwadi Party MP in Uttar Pradesh) and Khalid planted the bomb in Ghaffar Market," Singh added. Police also seized laptop of Atif, which contained materials about al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

All the terrorists came from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh while the explosive for making the bombs came from Karnataka. The group behind May 13 Jaipur blasts had gone over from Delhi to Jaipur and planted the bombs while the bombs in Ahmedabad were planted by 13 local operatives.
