Bangalore Blasts: Ammonium nitrate used

New Delhi, Jul 26: As per the sources the preliminary examination of the explosive material showed that ammonium nitrate was used to trigger the serial explosions that rocked Bangalore, killing two persons and injuring 12 others on Friday, July 25.

A team of Central security agencies which reached the IT city late Friday night, found that low-grade ammonium nitrate was used in the explosions, sources said here. The sources said small timer circuits were planted in the explosive devices to trigger the blasts. A day after eight blasts in Bangalore, a live bomb was found near the Forum Mall in Koramangala, one of the IT city's nerve centres on Saturday, July 26.

City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidri, said that police have vital clues regarding the serial blasts. The bomb found near Forum Mall was defused by the Bomb squad.
