Air India Express to start Kuwait services
Mumbai, Jul 1: Air India's budget carrier Air India Express will spread its wings further into the Gulf, with the induction of the 12th B737-800 aircraft.
From July 14, the airline will commence operations to Kuwait from three cities in south India -- Kozhikode, Kochi and Mangalore, a press release here said. While passengers travelling out of Kozhikode will have a daily flight to Kuwait, those from Kochi will have thrice weekly flights, and from Mangalore, two flights a week. With this, the international frequencies of Air India Express will increase to 150 per week. The new aircraft takes the strength of the Air India Express fleet to 19, which includes seven on lease.
Attractive designs of India's heritage have been a novel feature of Air India Express aircraft tails. The new aircraft VT-AXW also showcases two important landmarks.
While one side of the tail shows the 400-year old Charminar in Hyderabad, the other has a visual of the Buddhist stupa in Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh.
