Pune, Jun 26: After litterateurs, now it is the turn of publishers to raise their voice against organising 82nd All India Marathi Literary meet in San Francisco, US.

This is the first time that the Marathi Literary meet will be held overseas.

A city-based publisher yesterday threatend to file a writ petition in the Bombay High Court against the decision of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Mahamandal (ABMSM), apex Marathi literary body, to hold the literary meet abroad.

Talking to reporters here, Arun Jakhade, who is the owner of Padma Gandha Publishers, said a meeting in this regard will be held on July five, which will be attended by around 300 publishers.

He said the ABMSM has hurt the sentiments of many Marathi by announcing this language lovers. The reader should be respected, he added.

He said the Mahamandal as well as the publishers will incur losses, by holding the meet outside the country.
