Dera chief leaves Karnataka

Police sources told the sources here Singh, who was shifted to Bangalore under tight security, left for the Delhi by the early morning flight. Singh arrived here two days ago from Bangalore. The local unit of the Dera Sacha Sauda witnessed high drama as its chief and followers stayed back, keeping local police on tenterhooks and media persons guessing about his departure. There are widespread protests all over the country by the Sikh community demanding Dera Chief's arrest after his security guards killed one person in Mumbai and fired at Sikh protest groups.

In Karnataka, the Sikh community staged protests at Bangalore and other parts of the state and threatened to intensity the agitation if he was not arrested. For the entire day on tuesday, June 22, the Dera chief was inside the campus of local unit which was built only two months ago and held parleys with his followers. It was tough time for the local police which extended Z category security to him at the Rs 2.5 crore local unit located on the Mysore-Bangalore Highway.
