Vandalisation at police outpost, 4 wounded

Hardoi, Jun 16: Angry over the arrest of some people under the Cow Slaughter Act, a mob of as many as 100 locals attacked Govamau police outpost and ransacked its property late last night here, police said today.

Firstly, the mob thrashed two home-guards on patrol and then dragged them upto the police outpost, wherein, they showed their wrath and vandalised the property, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pradeep Chandra said.

Later, the agitators pelted stones, critically wounding a deewan and another person.

On June 13, the police have apprehended some locals under the Cow Slaughter Act, which had irked the locals, the SP informed.

Meanwhile, the wounded were admitted to hospital and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) garissoned in the area to maintain peace.
