Financial help to poor Upper Caste students
Mirzapur, Jun 16: After monetary help to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for education, a student welfare fund would now be created for financially weaker children of the Upper Castes in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Rakeshdhar Tripathi told mediapersons here last night, ''A fund is being created for poor students hailing from Upper Castes. Under the new arrangement, 10 per cent of children falling under this category would be lended financial help from next academic session,'' Also, talking on regularisation of the academic session, the minister said the government was fully committed towards it.
Mr Tripathi also informed that of the total 446 affiliated colleges of Jaunpur's Veer Bahadur Singh Poorvanchal University, 225 will be affiliated with the famous Banaras Hindu University.
All degree colleges of Mirzapur would fall under the BHU's affiliation, the education minister added.
Besides, an equal fee structure for all degree colleges in UP was being prepared, he informed.
