CBI files FIR in Scarlett Keeling murder case

Panaji, Jun 6: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the British teenager Scarlett Keeling's murder case. The FIR was filed yesterday, under section five of the Delhi Special Police act, North Goa SP Bosco George said. A CBI team is expected to arrive in Goa today, to begin probe.

The Anjuna police, which investigated the case of Keeling's death, under mysterious circumstances at Anjuna beach, on February 18, have already chargesheeted two people in the case. It may be noted that the first investigation officer of the case PSI Nerlon Albuquerque was suspended following initial lapses in the case, while suspension of Dr Silvano Dias Sapeco, who conducted the first autopsy in the case, has been revoked. Michael Mannion, the key witness in the case had deposed before the investigative team on March 17, following the look out circular issued against him.
