Goa police issue summons to Fiona MacKeown
Panaji, May 9: The Goa police have issued summons to Fiona MacKeown, mother of slain British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling, asking her to depose before the investigating agencies in view of her recent comments about the murder of her daughter.
The Goa North Superintendent of Police Bosco George said the summons were sent at the address of Fiona's lawyer Vikram Verma a few days ago, asking her to depose before the investigating agencies about her recent statement in London that she knew the person who killed her daughter. Scarlett's half naked body was recovered from Anjuna beach, where she was allegedly raped and murdered by a bartender in February.
The police have arrested two persons in this connection. However, Fiona had expressed her unhappiness over the police investigation and the post-mortem reports as Scarlett's vital organs such as kidney and liver were found missing. Fiona has demanded a CBI probe.
Fiona's lawyer, however, refused to accept the summons as she is out of the country, the police officer said, adding, summons will be issued to Fiona again through Home Ministry at her London address.
